Speaking at the opening of the conference, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Economic Division - Rector of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, on behalf of the Council of Rectors of economic schools (21 universities up to now) thanked the leadership of HUB as well as leaders of schools in the economic sector participated in a seminar on facilities, one of the three important pillars of the training institution, today. The conference is part of a series of three national-level seminars that alternate between universities in the industry, providing an opportunity to meet, share experiences, and make efforts to contribute to the development of the City.

The opening report for the conference was presented by Dr. Le Thai Thuong Quan of Ho Chi Minh Open University, with the topic Information technology application in education: trends and experiences. The report summarizes the trends of IT application in teaching and learning, in management and gives some practical application implementation experiences.

The second presentation, Assoc. Dr. Le Chi Lan presented a report on the assessment of the actual situation of training facilities in the economic sector at Saigon University. Assoc. Dr. Chi Lan proposed 3 basic solutions to improve facilities, including (1) Developing a quality development plan in the management of public facilities (2) Building the necessary perspective in training the economic sector and (3) Clearly define school policy and leadership commitment.

Presentation on the topic of Current status and development orientation of facilities at HUB was presented by Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Head of HUB Asset Management Department. The report presents an overview of facilities in educational institutions, especially at HUB. The report highlights the existing difficulties in subject-specific updated learning materials related to digital transformation. The report also sets out five development orientations to 2030 with a vision to 2045, aiming to bring HUB to  become a smart, spacious and modern university. In October 2022, HUB is proud to be one of the first universities to inaugurate a machine learning and blockchain lab. This is considered as one of the projects contributing to realizing the pioneering vision of applying digital in training and research, contributing to the innovation of learners' experience at HUB.

The second part of the conference was the speech and discussion of the participants such as: Dr. Tran Dinh Ly - Vice President of Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Duong Hong Quan - Head of Asset Management Department, University of Food Industry, Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Tran Thanh Long representing University of Economics and Law - National University of Ho Chi Minh City, MSc Pham Thanh An Head of IT Management Department, HUB.

After 2 hours of serious, focused work, Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Acting Rector of HUB delivered a speech summarizing the workshop, raising issues related to the investment, construction, procurement and management of facilities of educational institutions such as: IT infrastructure deployment; mechanism of procurement, bidding, sponsorship, the procurement of high-value specific equipment, the support of the city under a specific mechanism. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung highly appreciated the presentations and contributions at the conference, emphasizing the importance of facilities and information technology infrastructure as an edge of an equilateral triangle (lecturer staff, team, etc.) supporting staff, and facilities (equipment - IT - learning materials system - database) help the University develop stronger and stronger.
