           According to figures from the Ministry of Education and Training, as of April 2020, there are more than 14,000 Vietnamese students studying in the UK at all levels from English courses to PhD programmes. The UK ranks fourth among English-language study abroad destinations for Vietnamese students. The UK is also a leader in joint training programs (TransNational Education - TNE) with more than 5,100 students studying UK degree programs in Vietnam. The Newton Fund program, launched in 2014, has also been facilitating scientific and research cooperation between the UK and Vietnam in key areas of Vietnam's economic development, such as: health, agriculture, innovation and future cities, environment and life sciences.

          With the goal of strengthening cooperation in higher education between the UK and Vietnam, especially in the field of innovation and digital transformation, this visit to the UK of HUB has been opening opportunities for cooperation activities in the field of teaching and scientific research under the International Cooperation Strategy of HUB to 2025 with a vision to 2030, and at the same time promoting activities exchange students and lecturers, develop cooperation cooperation in training bachelor's and master's programs as well as short-term training courses....

                     On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung, acting rector of HUB shared: “The UK is one of the important strategic partners in the process of higher education innovation in Viet Nam. I believe that this visit and work in the UK will create conditions to promote more effective and successful higher education cooperation programs between HUB and other advanced universities in the UK in priority areas of the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam such as digital higher education, innovation, as well as enhancing student and faculty exchanges, training of short courses and improved training programs”.

                      This trip provides an opportunity to learn from successful experiences and lessons from UK universities in the areas of innovation, digital higher education, accreditation... This is also an opportunity for HUB to strengthen the possibility of cooperation with British universities in the future in the field of developing new training programs such as: Fintech, Logistics, International Business, Data science in Business, Master in Banking and Finance. These programs are all taught entirely in English, following the model of international joint programs: 2+2 or Approved Learning Partner (ALP), dual-degree program…

                   In addition, representatives of UK universities will assist HUB in developing undergraduate and postgraduate training programs, as well as short-term study trips based on the framework. their standard program, to help HUB use teaching - learning methods, assessment methods and training management methods of advanced universities in the world, meeting international educational accreditation standards. The renovation of the training program according to the standards of British universities in management methods and technology will contribute to creating a new transformation, overcoming the weaknesses of current Vietnamese universities. Besides, this combination helps HUB promote and improve the quality of training and scientific research, helping scientific research to achieve international standards; Through educational exchange programs, learners will have the opportunity to experience global learning, promote integration and increase job opportunities for students of HUB.
