Quality assurance, especially international quality accreditation, has been one of the most paramount requirements for joining the ranks of higher education structure in training high-quality human resources today. This means a system of growing and nurturing the budding talents to ensure a robust and replete pool of human resources must be continuously and iteratively reviewed for quality.

Instilled with this thinking, in the morning of January 11, 2018, at 56 Hoang Dieu 2 Street, Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc District - Banking University Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held the Recognition Ceremony of Institutional Accreditation with ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System Certifications.

Attended the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University (VNU-HCM), Director of the Training Quality Assessment and Evaluation Center - VNU-HCM, Ms. Le Thi Truc Dao - Director of Afnor Certification Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Phuoc Ngoc Anh - Director of Training Center of Apave Asia - Pacific, and many management leaders, full-time lecturers, staff members, as well as current students of Banking University HCMC. Congratulatory flowers were also sent from the State Bank of Vietnam, Ministry of Education and Training, Training Affiliates, financial companies and institutions, commercial banks and news agencies.

The Department of Testing and Quality Assurance announced that measures to implement the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System had started in February 2016 and completed in July 2017 under the consultancy of Apave Asia - Pacific. During the last 2 years, certain significant achievements have been made, including the ISO 9001:2015 Accreditation for the Training Programs, the completion of certified textbooks and reference materials, the development of a curriculum to meet the requirements of CDIO standards, internal assessment of institutional quality in Higher Education, first Internal Audit pertaining to ISO 9001:2015, second Internal Audit pertaining to ISO 9001:2015, a review of quality management system in preparation for external Higher Education Quality Assessment, and ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems internal auditor training. These achievements provide a robust evidence for the comprehensive improvement of Banking University in management, administration, training and researching. All of them pave the way for promoting an institution-specific quality culture such as shared attitudes and commitment to quality in order to meet the international standards.

According to the results of external educational quality assessment accredited by the Training Quality Assessment and Evaluation Center - VNU-HCM on August 3, 2017, Banking University Ho Chi Minh City is the 18th university in region and the 48th institution in nation to successfully achieve the Educational Quality Accreditation according to the criteria and regulations of assessing the quality in Higher Education issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Ms. Le Thi Truc Dao - Director of Afnor Certification - stated that this result reflected a recognition of the sustainable and dynamic development of Banking University HCMC. It plays an important role in not only leveraging the school continuous performance to qualify for regional and international standards, but also enhancing the confidence of students, stakeholders, as well as the community.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, Director of the Training Quality Assessment and Evaluation Center - VNU-HCM also congratulated on significant achievements of Banking University.  As the leader of the External Assessment Team, he pointed out some remarkable features such as (i) realistic objectives of management as well as administrative activities, (ii) a practical approach of the school mission to link with the national socio-economic development strategy, especially with the Banking industry, (iii) a rigorous document management system to meet the regulations of relevant ministries and agencies, (iv) a certified curriculum with  various forms of training to meet the requirements of CDIO standards and learners’ needs, (v) appropriate mechanisms and policies to recruit, nurture, and develop highly qualified lecturers and staff, (vi) guaranteed social policies catering for all learners, (vii) increased research productivity in the field of banking and finance with ample conferences, seminars, training cooperation programs, and exchanges of students and lecturers with foreign partners as well as affiliates, and (viii) expansions and renovations of school facilities such as classrooms, lecture halls, or equipment servicing to meet the strategic planning within short-term, medium-term and long-term time frames.
 

Meritorious teacher, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ly Hoang Anh – the Party Secretary and Rector of Banking University expressed grateful appreciations to leaders of the State Bank of Vietnam, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, national and local agencies, institutional departments, Trade unions, domestic and foreign scientists, business agencies and press agencies for their relentless cooperation and support for over 41 years.

With this great accreditation, Banking University is truly honored as a top institution for teaching and training employees working in the Banking & Finance sector in Vietnam.
